There are ways to make upcoming Holidays less stressful and more joyful.
Yesterday my client came to me for help with her Christmas decorations
She's been wanting to eliminate the confusion and overwhelm that come with bins and bins of decorations for years and have never been successful at doing it on her own.
She proceeded to share with me her plan for our next session and it got me so excited that with her permission I want to share it with you.
(If you find the useful, feel free to implement or pass it on!)
Step 1. Go though your decor and take out anything that doesn't make your eyes light up.
Holidays are about joy, so make sure that you in fact feel joyful holding your holiday decorations!
Step 2. Host a Thanksgiving or a pre-/post-Thanksgiving party at your house.
Any other occasion before the end of November will do.
Step 3. Invite your guests to pick out and take home anything in your doesn't-light-me-up pile. One condition - they have to take it home THAT night.
Feel the good feeling flowing in? It's because you just gave them a gift (a gift they can use right away) AND lightened your load! Truly win-win!
Step 4. Next day take everything left behind to the thrift store (or consignment) where it will be gladly accepted since it's appropriately seasonal.
Did you know that most thrift stores will NOT accept Christmas decorations after the holidays?
You've cleared out your storage, relieved the decorating stress, guaranteed yourself an easy time un-decorating in January, and given half the people you love a gift!
Have you need successful with decluttering your Holiday decorations?
I would love to hear from you!
