I love rebels.
Looking back, I'm realizing that every teacher I've ever followed and was ever inspired by was rebelling against the status quo in their own respective field.
Be it yoga, Buddhism, psychology, or medicine, every one of the people I've admired over the years has raised the question: Why?
Why this way and not the other? Why do we do that and not this? And my most recent favorite: Who says?
Important to note that rebellion without a cause is just another attempt at controlling the situation. However, rebellion from honest curiosity and a deep desire to understand is something that can break down the barriers, expand consciousness, and create a world of true expression.
My teachers are breaking down the walls of dogma and intolerance in their spheres of passion as I do in mine.
Why do you keep this? Who said you have to store that? Who told you this is the way to show your love?
Once we get to the true source of the thoughts we believe and act on we have a power to choose to keep them or let them go. Choice is the gift we get for asking questions.
Question your beliefs. Interrogate your thinking. Declutter your mind.
Get to the core of your own truth and organize your life around that.
